Positive: As we had the honour of being the first paying guests of the left villa, we did not have any reviews to rely on. We booked extremely last-minute (2 days before arrival) and were wondering: is this place real, isn‘t it too good to be true? So when left the main road and drove down the gravel road with our rental Kia Picanto, suddenly behind the last bend, the house revealed itself as the gem it really is. Even the top view is already exciting. Architecturally striking, nestled into the surroundings, like a binocular waiting for you to get high on the views it promised on the pictures. Too good to be true? Way better! On top of the stunning view of the landscape and the sea; and the looks of the villa - straight out of a travel & lifestyle magazine - the warm, welcoming feeling the house itself conveys makes you feel home away from home in an instant. No compromises were made in both building as in decorating, with high quality materials and appliances. Styled beautiful, but without excesses, it's a soft and gentle layer of cozyness, that makes the surroundings sing even louder. Spending time inside is also relaxing. If we could, we would haven taken the bed back home :-), an aspect of travelling that is underrated in reviews, but here: top notch. The house was spotless. Modern technology helped to make life even more comfortable. We were in need of a urgent recharging and that’s exactly what we’ve got. A sensorial boost with the beautiful views from (and) at the house, the relaxing and everlasting sound of the breaking of the waves down on the beach, the feeling of the warm welcome and the Corfu sun on our skin and even a taste of Greece upon arrival. We were welcomed by Maria and her husband David, who took care of the house. Great people! Maria is an engineer and actually helped to realize and build the house, together with the owners Hanieh & Wolfgang. She gave us the space we craved for, but was avalaible ...
Negative: CONTINUATION OF POSITIVE REVIEW>>> ...if we needed her for help, information and tips about the area and Corfu. We appreciated the good communication with the owners. We went last week of september. We are a couple in our early 50’s. We did have the luxury of having the whole place for ourselves. We can imagine if you could share the experience with family or friends in the second house, it would also be a wonderful holiday. Kids will love this place as well! I know those are lots of lyrical words (even too many to fit into Booking.com's maximum amount of characters), but it’s the kind of place (and people) that makes you do that, you want to share the feeling. But just like these images try to convey what to expect, but never really manage, it’s the same with words. You’ll just have to go and see it for yourself. My only worry right now is: have we peaked in our choice for a holiday home :-)? IMPROVEMENTS? As this was a new venture, obviously there were a few - really - minor improvements we noticed, but we decided to share those with the owners.
