Villa Levante was designed by the architect Eduardo Souto Moura in 1995, it´s implanted in a pine forest in the natural park of Ria Formosa, between the city of Tavira and the fishing village of Fuseta. Inspired by the traditional houses of the Algarve eastern with clay floor and white interior, that characterize the spaces that are distributed in three volumes. In the rooms facing east in the morning comes in the gentle light filtered through the garden. The room opens onto the garden, where the breeze enters, refreshes and perfumes the room. From the kitchen we see children and friends who play on the lawn.
In all spaces the windows open in totality letting the sound of the pine trees echo in the house. From the bed, from the living room, from the kitchen, we see the Ria Rormosa and the Atlantic Ocean. One hears the singing of chickens and larks, and at the end of the day the blackbirds tinker in the garden.
From the house you can walk along the Ria Formosa* (cycle-pedestrian route between Vila Real de Santo António and Sagres) to Barril Beach or to Fuseta.
Here time passes slowly, between bike rides, walks, trips to the beach and sunbathing. In the evening, try the Fialho restaurant by the river, passing by Santa Luzia or take the opportunity to visit Tavira.
