Positive: We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful villa. The location is great to visit both the NE and NW part of the island. Astrakery is a small village, not much to do there, but close to Roda, where you have restaurants and shops. Astrakery beach is not impressive, but it is close (5 min by car) and there is another no name beach close if you want to skip driving (maybe 10 min on foot). There are 2-3 tavernas in the area (2-5 min drive). We really enjoyed Gregory's fish taverna. If you want to see the gems of the island you definitely need a car. As for the villa, amazing outdoor space, green, quiet and relaxing, the pool is great, the 3 studios downstairs are clean and equipped with almost everything you might need (except a dishwasher, that would be a big bonus). David and his mom are great hosts, and we hardly felt that his mom lives upstairs.

Negative: All the beds are twins, so if you are a couple or a family with child you are not really sleeping together. Not a big problem, but to be noted. The bathrooms are small and a bit outdated and we had some issues with the drainege system (there is a mop provided) and with the toilets (one was wobbly and one filled the tank in about 15min after one flush). Maybe this could be improved. Since we had 2-3 days with rain and storm, in that period the running water was dark brown (same in the washing machine that resulted in some ruined clothes) and the morning of our departure there was no running water at all. I know this is a wheather related problem, but it was non of the less an inconvenient for us. All in all, we had a great time here, we thank David and his mom for the hospitality and wish them all the best!
